Sex Therapy
Just as you would seek out professional advice to resolve a physical or mental health issue, sex therapy addresses concerns and challenges in your intimate life..
Sex therapy is a safe space to analyze and solve any sexually related dysfunction by employing talk therapy to delve into the underlying causes impeding your sex life.
It seeks to provide you with the skills and solutions to empower you to reach your sexual goals.
Sexual dysfunction can be a result of various causes and can manifest differently for different individuals. If you or your partner feel your sex life is a source of anxiety or emotional discomfort leading to unfulfilled sexual intimacy, then perhaps this type of therapy is right for you.
A great place for you to carve out the time in a safe space, sex therapy can also give your relationship the time it needs to reset and rediscover. Just as you would review your family budget, reviewing your intimacy goals can give your relationship that jump start to recharge your relationship both in and out of the bedroom.
Additionally, if you or your partner is experiencing any of the following sexual dysfunctions, and you have ruled out medical cause, then therapy is right for you.
- Erectile dysfunction
- Low libido
- Lack of desire
- Premature ejaculation
- Low confidence
- Lack of response to sexual stimulus
- Inability to reach orgasm
- Painful sex
- Excessive libido
- Inability to control sexual behavior
- Distressing sexual thoughts
- Unwanted sexual fetishes
How does sex therapy work?
Each of you will be asked to complete a sexual intake form.
You will be asked about what parts of your sex life is working and what each of you are doing to create a positive atmosphere.
You will then be asked about what it is that is contributing to the dynamic.
By digging deep and figuring out what is getting in your way, you will be able to uncover what is fueling your dynamic so that you can start afresh.
Should there be a medical issue that is uncovered that may be contributing to the dysfunction, you may be referred to a doctor to resolve the issue.
All therapy is intended to be supportive and educational.
Note: Your clothing will always stay on. You will not be having sex in the therapeutic setting. You may be shown diagrams or photos.
In addition to dramatically improving your sex life, sex therapy can relieve you of the unnecessary stress around your intimacy, allowing you to have a more fulfilling and loving relationship.
